Commissions

I take on a small number of commissions each year: portraits, editorial reportage and the occasional wedding, mostly in Southern Europe and always on the terms below. If the work here looks like the work you need, the rest is a conversation.

How a commission works

It starts with an email and a short call. I want to know who the pictures are for, where they will live and how much time we have, because those three answers decide everything else, from the lens I bring to whether we shoot at dawn or wait for the evening.

The brief tells me what to photograph. The place tells me how.

On the day I work alone, quietly and without a lighting setup, so the people in the frame can forget about the camera. You receive a curated edit, never a contact sheet, within two weeks, with full-size files and a licence written for the use we agreed.

What I do not do

Product photography, events with a shot list of two hundred names, and anything that needs to be retouched into something it was not. For those there are better photographers than me, and I am happy to point you to them.

  • Day rates are fixed and quoted up front, with travel at cost.
  • Half of the fee is due on booking, the rest on delivery.
  • Usage beyond the agreed licence is always possible, and always a new conversation.

Write to hello@example.com with the dates, the place and a line about the pictures you have in mind.
