Harbor Light

Mediterranean seaside town with beach umbrellas and boats along a blue bay
Photograph by Peter Thomas

Late morning on the bay, the first umbrellas up and the boats still tied. The town climbs the hill behind in three shades of ochre.

From the pier

The pier gives the only high vantage point without a drone, and I do not fly drones. The frame is stitched from two verticals.

The umbrellas go up at ten and come down at seven, and between those hours the beach is a different picture every half hour. This is the half hour before it fills.

The town has been photographed a million times and will be photographed a million more. That is not a reason to skip it. It is a reason to arrive before everyone else does.
