A journal with room for the everyday
Blogmere is a place for short journeys, familiar streets and things that deserve a closer look.

A walk across town can leave you with a photograph, a few lines in a notebook or a question you did not expect to bring home. Blogmere begins with those small returns. We collect stories about places, people and the ordinary activities that give a day its shape.
You will find travel here, but also rooms, streets, food, clothes and afternoons with no particular destination. The subjects are connected by attention rather than by a single location. A painted wall can deserve as much space as a distant landscape.
What belongs in the journal
Each piece starts with something concrete. It might be a tram journey, the light in a passage or the practical business of making a portrait. Photographs carry part of the story; the words add what the frame cannot explain on its own.
We favour a few useful observations over a complete account of a place. A story should be long enough to develop an idea and short enough to leave you time to go outside afterwards. Some are accompanied by a single image. Others need a small sequence.

Follow an interest
A subject becomes more interesting when you return to it from another direction. A story about a portrait might lead to a closer look at clothing, or to the room where the picture was made. We leave those connections open rather than asking every piece to fit inside a narrow category.
The journal has space for a short practical note as well as a more considered essay. What matters is that the piece has something of its own to offer: a useful suggestion, an unfamiliar view or a detail that makes a familiar place worth looking at again.
Take whichever route through it interests you. Follow a topic, open a photograph or begin with the latest piece. There is no required order, and there is room to come back to something later.
